Happy Spring Equinox everybody! The website is online and the movement’s official birthday is today.
I’m Dan, and I founded this movement. Admittedly, it’s not much of a ‘movement’ yet and more like an overly ambitious project, but I seem to be missing that gene that deters people from things like this.
Have an explore of the website to find out what this is about. It is a coordinated and strategic campaign which blends different elements. Something extremely simple might gain ‘followers’ quicker, but I’m not after followers. I want to get the job done, even if it takes a few generations.
The website is far from perfect. The leaflets don’t look right either, apparently I have a lot to learn about design! My sign is barely more sophisticated than a piece of cardboard. My communication skills, essential for the project, have a lot to be desired. Most people who talk to me think I’m mad. I can barely, if at all, use social media. But sometimes in life you have to leap. I’d rather do this project badly at first than not at all.
Over the weekend, I will be networking with a couple of awesome projects, but I aim to be doing some outreach in London on Tuesday. This involves me outside with a sign, what it will say I do not yet know.
Step 3: Get a rough group
The first two steps are done, which are design the project, then make a website and flyers.
People who already know me, you can decide whether you like the campaign and to what extent you would like to be involved. People who don’t know me, feel free to contact me in person, by email or using the contact form. We will make some sort of group and start from there.
Disclaimer – of sorts!
Just to make things clear, I am not expecting this to be easy or quick. This is an untested project in uncharted waters. Most likely, it will not get a tsunami of engagement and support. I may have to adjust my approach or aspects of how I communicate. I anticipate sitting in the streets with a sign like a madman warning about the end of days, before anything comes of this!
However, new ideas need to be tried. Risks must be taken. Sacrifices have to be made – in my case, I am sacrificing my time, sanity and any chance of a normal life!
